Private Art Lessons & Portfolio Mentoring

Art Instruction for Ages 8+ to 80+

It's never too early or too late to learn how to create!

I offer personalized art lessons for students ages 8 and up, from curious beginners to experienced artists looking to refine their skills. Whether you're a child discovering drawing for the first time, a teenager building a portfolio, or an adult returning to art after many years, lessons are tailored to meet you where you are.

Every student learns differently. I adapt my teaching style, projects, and pace to fit each individual's goals, interests, abilities, and learning preferences. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can develop technical skills, creative confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for art.

Class Rate: $100 per hour

Portfolio Reviews & Professional Development

For artists interested in exhibiting their work, I offer portfolio reviews and professional guidance based on more than seven years of experience working in the museum industry.

Whether you are preparing to submit work to a gallery, museum exhibition, juried competition, I can help you:

  • Select and edit artwork for submissions

  • Strengthen the presentation of your portfolio

  • Photograph and document artwork effectively

  • Write artist statements and biographies

  • Prepare exhibition proposals and application materials

  • Understand common expectations of galleries and museums

  • Develop a cohesive body of work

As someone who has spent years working behind the scenes in museums—coordinating exhibitions, working directly with artists, and helping bring exhibitions to life, I can offer practical feedback from both an artist's and museum professional's perspective.

Portfolio reviews are available in person in Baton Rouge or remotely through Zoom.

Rate is $100 per hour for mentorship.
